A BLUNDER BREAKS UP: Pep Guardiola's men did appear solid on all fronts from the start and managed to open the scoring in the 27th minute through Rodri's beautiful curling shot. Bayern actually didn't play badly under Thomas Tuchel, it's just that a fatal mistake made by Dayot Upamecano was used by Erling Haaland to provide an assist for City's second goal which was scored by Bernardo Silva in the 70th minute. Haaland did not want to miss getting his name on the scoresheet, scoring his team's third goal in the 76th minute thanks to John Stones' header.

DO YOU KNOW? Erling Haaland is the first player in Europe's top competition to be directly involved in 50 goals in all of his club competitions in the 2022/23 season, and he only needed 39 games to reach that figure.

WHAT IS NEXT? It will be Bayern's turn to host the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Allianz Arena on Thursday (20/4) and they have a difficult mission to catch up to a 3-0 aggregate deficit from City.
